Iryna Khytruk

“Watercolour works exploring light, healing, and beauty through delicate layers of colour.”

About Iryna

Iryna Khytruk is a watercolour artist whose work is characterised by transparency, light, and sensitivity. Through delicate layers and an intuitive sense of colour, she creates works that convey stillness, warmth, and a poetic presence. Her artistic journey began in April 2025, when — after a long pause since her school years — she once again picked up a paintbrush. What started as a tentative step soon became a life-changing journey, with art serving as a pathway out of deep depression.

The experiences of the war in Ukraine profoundly shape her creative practice. This transformative period has deepened her emotional awareness and led to a new understanding of both herself and the world around her. Her art reflects this inner journey — a search for light, healing, and meaning. Nature is her greatest source of inspiration, and flowers appear frequently in her work as symbols of both fragility and strength.

Her long-term dream is to open her own studio and offer free art therapy courses for people affected by war and trauma. For Iryna, creativity is a vital force — a way of seeing, feeling, and sharing the beauty of life.
