Jacob & Elliot Atelier Studios is a boutique literary and creative agency based in Sweden and working internationally. We work with authors, illustrators, visual artists, and selected creative professionals to develop, publish, represent, and position distinctive work.
Our involvement may begin with an early idea or an existing project and extend through creative development, editorial work, production, publishing, representation, marketing, sales, distribution, and long-term intellectual-property development.
We work with emerging and established authors, illustrators, visual artists, and selected creative professionals. We are drawn to work with a distinctive artistic identity, genuine originality, and potential to reach the appropriate audience beyond a single market.
We take on a carefully selected number of collaborations each year. There is no narrow genre requirement, but we need to believe that we can develop and represent the work with care, clarity, and conviction.
The process begins with an initial enquiry and a thoughtful review of both the creator and the project. We consider what the work is, where it currently stands, what you hope to achieve, and where there may be opportunities for development, publishing, representation, or commercial growth.
If there is a strong fit, we discuss the project in more depth and agree an individual strategy. We do not use a one-size-fits-all model.
We assess the work from both creative and commercial perspectives. This may include its artistic identity, quality, potential audience, relevant markets, intellectual-property opportunities, and the most suitable route to develop, present, and position it.
Where appropriate, we will propose a considered route forward. Not every project is right for the studio, but every serious enquiry is reviewed thoughtfully.
Yes. We work with emerging creators who need early-stage guidance and development, as well as established authors and artists looking to extend existing work, strengthen their market position, develop new collections or products, or explore international opportunities.
Our work may include creative and manuscript development, editorial development and editing, publishing strategy, publishing and production, author and artist representation, intellectual-property development, brand and project development, international positioning, marketing and promotional strategy, sales and distribution, print-on-demand production, and the development of new formats or products from existing creative work.
The exact scope is agreed around the individual creator, project, and collaboration.
We consider where a creator, work, or intellectual property may have the right potential internationally. This can involve audience, presentation, language, format, pricing, distribution, commercial applications, and the markets most appropriate to the work.
Jacob & Elliot Atelier Studios works through established partners in Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Our aim is not to force a project into every market, but to build a credible and appropriate international path.
Every publishing project is different. Depending on the project, the process may include development, editing, manuscript and artwork preparation, design, production, metadata, ISBN arrangements, publication, distribution, marketing, and sales.
Our aim is not simply to publish a book, but to develop each project with long-term creative, commercial, and international potential in mind.
We use contemporary production and distribution solutions, including print-on-demand where appropriate. This can allow books and other products to be produced as orders are placed rather than requiring large quantities of stock to be printed and stored in advance.
Depending on the project, sales and distribution may take place through international marketplaces, sales channels, and specialist production and fulfilment partners.
Commercial terms are discussed and agreed before work begins. Our standard model is based on net profit generated from sales: Jacob & Elliot retains %, while % is passed to the client.
The exact arrangement can vary according to the project, services involved, and agreed scope of collaboration. We believe in a clear and transparent commercial relationship in which the studio and the creator share an interest in developing strong work and sustainable sales.
There is no single standard timetable. Timing depends on the condition and scope of the project, the development or editorial work required, production needs, approvals, and the intended publication or launch strategy.
Some projects can move relatively quickly; others need more time and preparation. We establish realistic timelines around the individual project.
Please contact us through the website. Tell us a little about yourself, what you have created, the stage your project is at, and what you hope to achieve.
