Denna vecka på Atelier
Creative work often requires a willingness to change plans. A date may move, a publication may require more development, or an event may need to be postponed. These changes are not necessarily failures of planning. Sometimes they are the responsible consequence of recognising what the work actually requires.
This week, that principle is particularly relevant to the Atelier’s programme.
Arbetet pågår
Fikret Çeşmeli’s Karagöz project remains in development following the postponement of the event that had originally been planned for 26 September. There is currently no new date.
The important point is that the project itself continues independently of that date. Its development involves the relationship between the Swedish and Turkish editions, the presentation of Fikret’s work and the wider context of his forty years as an actor, singer and musician.
Other publishing projects continue on their own timelines, including the developing Oscar Dillington project.
Utvecklingar och milstolpar
The Atelier’s approach to postponement is straightforward: a project should not be forced into an artificial timetable merely because a date has previously been announced.
Creative programmes are stronger when practical decisions remain responsive to the actual circumstances of the work.
This is also part of representation. To represent an artist or author responsibly means understanding when to move forward and when to allow additional time.
Med blicken inåt
The programme continues with attention on the projects that are ready to progress and on those requiring further development.
The coming weeks will include significant activity, but the Atelier’s measure of progress remains the quality and coherence of the work rather than the number of dates appearing on a calendar.
